1. Before We Were Yours – Lisa Wingate

5 Books to Read While in Quarantine – Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate is set in the late 1930’s on the Mississippi River. Rill and her four siblings are taken one night when their mother is rushed to the hospital. They’re thrown into an orphanage and are told that their parents will pick them up soon – but that is not the case. This book really intrigues me because it’s based on a true story where Georgia Tann (director of the Tennessee Orphanage) would kidnap and sell poor children to wealthy families.

2. Redhead by the Side of the Road – Anne Tyler

5 Books to Read While in Quarantine – Redhead by the Side of the Road by Anne Tyler

The Redhead by the Side of the Road by Anne Tyler seems like an interesting book to me because it centers around a man, Micah, that leads a very particular and organized life. Then, by surprise, he’s getting evicted and a teenager shows up claiming to be his son. This is one I definitely want to pick up as I want to know how Micah is going to handle all of this change.

3. Then She Was Gone – Lisa Jewell

5 Books to Read While in Quarantine – Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell

Days away from summer vacation, fifteen year old Ellie Mack, goes missing. 10 years later, Laurel Mack, Ellie’s mother, is still trying to get her life back together. She’s been divorced for 7 years now, and unexpectedly meets a charming man at the cafe. Their relationship moves quickly and she meets Floyd’s daughter, Poppy. But there is something about Poppy that reminds her of Ellie…

Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell is definitely intriguing to me because it makes you question everything. Where did Ellie go? What happened to her? Why does Poppy remind Laurel so much of Ellie? This is one I’m going to have to pick up soon, because I need answers!

4. The Woman in the Window – A.J. Finn

5 Books to Read While in Quarantine – The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn is about a recluse woman, Anne, who witnesses a crime while looking out her window. She starts to question what she saw. Did it happen? Did I imagine it? Is someone in danger? I’m going to have to pick this one up to find out!

5. Behind Closed Doors – B. A. Paris

5 Books to Read While in Quarantine – Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris

Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris is one that I’ve already read, and love! It’s about a newlywed couple who seem to have the best life. Jack is wealthy attorney, and Grace is a flawless homemaker. The two are inseparable, almost too close. But you can’t not like them – they’re perfect. But life is not always what it seems behind closed doors. If you like a thriller with twists and turns on every page, I highly suggest you check out this book. You won’t regret it!

That wraps up the 5 Books to Read While in Quarantine. If you have any suggestions on other books I should read, let me know! Don’t forget to check out my last post here, and follow me on Instagram and Pinterest!
