L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer vs Tarte Shape Tape

I recently tried the new L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer and let me tell you, I am impressed. It is a full coverage, waterproof, transfer-resistant, and fade-resistant concealer that comes in 25 shades. Could the shade range be better? Absolutely. The concealer comes with a doe-foot applicator, 0.33 fl. oz. and costs $10.99 per tube.

When I first saw this concealer in Target, I knew I had to compare it to my tried and true Tarte Shape Tape ($27). They both have the same amount of product, but the L’Oreal concealer is $16 cheaper. Now, when I chose my shade for the L’Oreal concealer, I grabbed the lightest shade because that’s what I usually am, and it’s quite a bit lighter than the Tarte one.

Comparing the Concealers

Swatching this concealer next to Shape Tape, it is very very similar. Lighter in shade and a bit lighter in consistency but that is the only difference I can see. When blended out, it provides very good coverage, doesn’t crease on me, and lasts all day.

Left – L’Oreal Full Wear
Right – Tarte Shape Tape

I’ve tried a few concealers, including the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer ($7), along with the Colourpop No Filter Matte Concealer ($6.50). To me, neither one of these concealers compares to the coverage Shape Tape has. The L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer is the only one I’ve tried that actually gives Tarte a run for its money. I have actually been using the L’Oreal Full Wear more than Tarte Shape Tape recently, partly because I’m running out of Shape Tape, but it’s also just a really good concealer all around.

If you’re looking for a good drugstore concealer or an alternative to Shape Tape, I’d say give the L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer a try.
